Wordtune Read is an AI reader that can be used to summarize long texts such as articles, reports, speech transcripts, and more to more efficiently acquire the basic information necessary for advancing international cooperation. With Wordtune Read, it is possible to insert diplomatic texts as input and receive a summary and/or key points within the text, making it easier for diplomats to stay up to date with developments in today’s rapidly changing diplomatic scene.

The SPIKE App allows users to conduct keyword searches and cross-reference information among a vast set of databases. Most notably, the app can be used to search for information located in the United Nations Parallel Corpus database.

Watson Natural Language Understanding
The Natural Language Processing (NLP) Tone Detection program uses AI technology to interpret the meaning of a particular text beyond the raw information provided: this form of technology is also known as “sentiment analysis”. This tool can help analyze large volumes of written material to reveal sentimental attributes of written text; identifying the emotion or perspective behind a text can help diplomats create “psychological profiles” of opposing actors, allowing them to better understand how to best conduct themselves in diplomatic situations with a particular party. In addition, this tool can be used to review outgoing reports or letters to ensure that the message of a document reads as intended, thus maximizing the opportunity for success.

The Tweet Whisperer program analyzes posts and tweets made by foreign leaders to interpret their actions based on NLU technologies capable of identifying tone and sentiment, which can be used to create a bigger picture of foreign leaders’ mentality and perspectives. This will allow diplomats to track patterns of operation of foreign leaders and governments to better anticipate the actions of other parties and to better conduct international relationships.
